Story Time is a very important part of our day at Learning Tree. We select stories to go along with our Abeka curriculum, which emphasizes reading and writing. We also use Beginner Bible Curriculum in each classroom daily. Our Learning Tree Christian Academy K-4 through Grade 3 students use Abeka readers, as well as other quality works of literature, to help them develop and grow their reading skills.
As for writing, our young students learn to recognize letters and numbers. They learn how to trace letters and and numbers, writing them on their own when age-appropriate. All Learning Tree Christian Academy children use their Abeka curriculum to guide their reading and writing skills. Kindergarten - Grade 3 students learn basic grammar, capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and how to write sentences, paragraphs, short stories, and book reports/projects. Our older students display their reading and writing skills through their book report projects at our annual inhouse reading fair.
